Gerd Semmler gewinnt bei einem Preisausschreiben seines Lieblingselektronikversandes »Elektronikwelt« den Hauptpreis: Das »Futurehome«, ein Haus in dem alles elektronisch gesteuert wird. Damit beginnen die Probleme: Gerd braucht ein Grundstück für das Haus, er muss seiner Familie beibringen, dass ein Umzug ansteht und dann taucht auch noch ein Fernsehteam auf, das daraus eine Doku-Soap machen will.
